Hi there, I’m Grace!

I’m the therapist behind Tempest Counseling, and I truly love what I do.

Becoming a therapist has been the privilege of my life. I would be honored to be a small part of your journey.

My Values & Intentions

  • My decision to become a therapist was born out of my own painful losses and struggles. I know what it’s like to feel your life fall apart and how terrible it can be to feel lost in the storm of your own uncontrollable emotions. To me, being a therapist and helping others is a way to find meaning in the inevitable pain, loss, and strife we all experience.

I consider being a therapist to be an immense honor. Every day, I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity to be inspired by another’s pain, vulnerability, and courage — there is truly nothing more exquisitely meaningful.

  • Our work will be grounded in trust, respect, and emotional safety. I take time to really know you — your story, your fears, your hopes — and to create a space where all of it is welcome. I use my flexibility, warmth, and curiosity to cultivate a space where you can genuinely feel comfortable to reveal yourself.

I am a firm believer that while therapy can be difficult, it can also be full of joy and fun. As such, I fully support humor in session and love to laugh alongside my clients. To me, this is an essential part of cultivating a caring, genuine relationship in which you feel appreciated for who you are.

  • I care deeply about creating a space where you feel safe to be your full self. That means affirming all identities, honoring your pace, and meeting you with real, honest connection. I firmly believe in upholding the agency and voice of all who cross my path, so your identity and perspective will always be respected.

I’m LGBTQIA+ & neurodivergent-affirming, anti-racist, sex positive, and committed to working through an anti-oppressive framework. Your story, your truth, and your complexity are honored and welcome here.

The Human Behind the Therapist

Fun, Serious, and Slightly Embarrassing Facts

🧙‍♀️ I’m a fantasy/sci-fi nerd at heart.

If there’s magic, crazy lore/world-building, or intergalactic rebellion involved—I’m in. I love anything that is imaginative and out of this world. (so…if you’re a nerd, definitely reach out)

🌿 I feel most connected when I’m outside.

Whether it's hiking, walking under big trees, or just diving headfirst into freezing water, nature is my solace. You can catch me in the water on any sunny day that is over 90 degrees. On nice days, you can catch me struggling through a run while epic classical music blares on my headphones.

💛 The most important thing in my life? My relationships.

My partner, friends, family, or the clients I have the honor of talking to every day — connection is everything to me. It’s also at the heart of how I practice therapy: real, human, and rooted in deep care.

🐱 I live with two cats who graciously allow me to pay rent.

They are Miso and Katsu, my overlords and part-time Zoom coworkers. You will probably see them if you’re virtual…

🌏 I’m bi-racial (White + Taiwanese).

Growing up between cultures shaped so much of how I think about identity, belonging, and what it means to feel at home in yourself.

🧜‍♀️ If I could be any mythological creature, I’d be a mermaid with an orange tail and gold sparkles—ideally with emotional weather powers.

Think moody tides, thunder when I cry, and sunshine when I laugh. (honestly, I’d settle for being any magical creature…)
