Tempest Counseling
Embrace your storm and discover your potential

Relational, trauma-informed therapy for adults and couples
Why Tempest?
To me, the tempest represents something deeply human — the storm of complex, difficult stories, emotions, and thoughts we all carry.
People often come to therapy hoping to quiet the chaos. They want an off switch to finally stop the feelings that seem to make a mess of their lives. But true healing doesn’t work that way, because we can’t numb pain without also numbing joy, connection, and meaning — the very things that make life worth living.
At Tempest Counseling, the goal isn’t to fix who you are or to shut out the parts of you that feel scary. It’s to help you turn towards yourself — to build your capacity to feel, experience, and move with your storm, not against it.
Because what if the parts of us we have been trying to hide and numb aren’t weaknesses? What if they are our greatest source of strength and the way to life we dream of?
My Approach
In our work together, we’ll explore your story with curiosity and compassion — making sense of past experiences, building your capacity to safely experience and feel, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been hidden, silenced, or lost. Whether you’re navigating trauma, identity, or a search for meaning, therapy is a space to reclaim your agency, authenticity, and connection.
My approach is grounded in a trauma-informed foundation and draws from:
Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT)
Narrative Therapy
Constructive Psychotherapy
Existentialism
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Somatic practices
You might feel at home here if any of these resonate.

The foundation of my practice is a deep belief in the power of genuine, authentic connection. I believe healing happens not just through insight, but through deepening our relationship to others—and to ourselves.
Because my work is rooted in authenticity, I show up as my full self in the therapy room. I’m not the blank-faced therapist who tosses back a diagnosis and coping skills after you’ve poured your heart out. Instead, I’m not afraid to laugh, cry, and feel alongside you — because you, and the stories you carry, matter and deserve to be felt, seen, and respected.
